Dragons love pie!

For this Thanksgiving card, I went with something totally different. I believe that dragons love pie. I know I do. :)

I thought it would be cute for the dragon to be blowing smoke on the pie to try to cool it down before he munches on it.

I added red to the pie to indicate that it is cherry. Yum, yum, yum!

Pilgrim critters

These little Thanksgiving critters are so cute! The Giving Thanks stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh has been one of my favorites. I kept my card pretty simple because I wanted the pilgrims to be the focal point.

The scripty sentiment is just gorgeous! I love white embossing sentiments on dark backgrounds. :) The trio of stitched hexagons I used on my card are also from Pretty Pink Posh. They are a fun way to feature the elements that I stamped and colored.

Pumpkin sparkle

It is always so much fun to make my own patterned background. Before I even knew what the full design of my card was going to be, I started by just stamping the leaves and pumpkins from the Pretty Pink Posh Giving Thanks stamp set in various directions.

Once I finished the background, I decided that the sentiment would be cool if it was hidden behind a Peekaboo Window die cut.

Tada!

At first, I worried that the card might look odd without a sentiment or any other stamped images besides the background. But, adding Twine and Bows die cuts added just enough. I love that the card is interactive.

I finished the card by adding tons of clear Wink of Stella to all the images.

Watercolor Ice Cream

Today I made a belated birthday card for one of my sisters. Her birthday was right after I got back from a vacation in Japan, and then I was sick for a while, and then I was catching up on work, and then, and then. Good thing she loves me. Better late than never! :)

I started by using my very first stamp set from The Ton to create my own background. These ice cream cones are so cute! I stamped them in Versamark ink and added white embossing powder so that my watercoloring would better stay in the lines.

I was going for chocolate, strawberry, and mint ice cream. Yum! I probably should have added some chocolate sprinkles to the mint, though.

I didn't want to stick with a completely white background, so I added a wash of light purple after coloring in all the ice cream images.

After my background was finished, I added a sparkly silver frame, a sentiment heat embossed on vellum, and some clear sequins for dimension. I really love how my card turned out. :)

I am entering my card into the final Tic-Tac-Toe card challenge, with white on white, dimension, and vellum.
