Mini Christmas trees

This project was so much fun! I made mini Christmas trees for my mom and my three siblings using the Take a Bough dies from Concord & 9th.

I first colored some 3mm bamboo skewers with a brown marker.

I then made the tree bases using Styrofoam balls and glitter. After cutting the balls in half, I realized that they weren't stable enough to hold up the trees ...

My next step was making the trees themselves. I spent about three hours die cutting the branches for the four trees I made. Assembling them was easy peasy, though, and didn't take too much time.

Back to the tree bases ... I decided to paint some small terracotta pots white and glue the glitter-covered balls inside. If I had known to do this in the first place, I would have left the balls whole.

I added some shimmer to the trees using both frost and sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz from Tsukineko.

And I also used a paintbrush to add some gold Perfect Pearls to some of the branches.

You can see all the shimmer in the next two photos.

The last step was adding the mini red pompoms to the branches and a silver ribbon around the pots.

I can't wait to make more trees for other holidays! And I think they would make cute party favors or hostess gifts as well. I hope to see more die sets like this. :)

Silver sparkle stag

I fell in love with the Wplus9 Holiday Trimmings stamp set as soon as I saw it. I used only the ornaments for this card and will save the trees for another project. I had fun picking out similar dye ink colors for the layered stamping for the ornaments. LOVE.

My favorite part of this card is the Splendid Stags die cut from Newton's Nook. It looks so pretty cut from Silver Sparkle cardstock. :)

Deer smooching

I used traditional Christmas colors for this card for my boyfriend. And I used two different Lawn Fawn stamp sets so that I could have smooching deer. :)

I shined some light directly on the card to show the sparkle that I added to the mistletoe, antlers, and Santa hat. I love the Spectrum Noir clear overlay markers.

Mistletoe generally has white berries, but I made them red because they popped! And I fussy cut the sentiment to try something different. I like it.

Christmas puppies

I made this Christmas card for my brother. It is simple and cute and "masculine." You know, as masculine as I could get using puppy stamps. :)

My favorite part is the tangled lights around the puppy. I actually don't put up a Christmas tree because I fear that my two cats would end up looking like that. Little rascals!
